Why this series matters

Creating a compassionate school culture requires shared understanding, intentional practice, and the right tools.

The Harrow Toolkit for Compassionate Systems helps schools build a culture where wellbeing and compassion are central to everyday practice. It gives staff and students practical tools to better understand emotions, assumptions, and root causes of behaviour.

At the heart of the toolkit are four types of awareness:

  • Perceptual
  • Relational
  • Aspirational
  • Somatic

Together, these models help educators strengthen emotional insight, improve communication, and create safer, more connected learning environments.

Shifting the BurdenFriday, 24 April 2026This session introduces four key communication roles—Mover, Follower, Opposer, and Bystander—and explores how they influence team dynamics. Educators will learn how to balance these roles to improve collaboration and reduce conflict.
The Four Player Model (David Kantor’s Structural Dynamics)Tuesday, 12 May 2026Focuses on creating long-term, sustainable solutions rather than quick fixes. Teachers will reflect on how short-term strategies can mask deeper issues and learn how to shift toward more meaningful change.
