Beyond the Obvious: Recognising Abuse and Neglect

Develop greater confidence in safeguarding by learning how to identify early signs of abuse and neglect, recognise meaningful patterns, and respond with clarity and care. This session provides practical guidance tailored to the realities of international school contexts.

About This Session

This focused webinar supports staff working in international schools to recognise potential indicators of abuse and neglect in children and young people. It explores common forms of abuse and the possible physical, emotional, and behavioural signs associated with them, taking account of cultural and contextual factors that may influence what staff notice. The session emphasises professional curiosity, noticing patterns over time, and responding appropriately to concerns.

Delivered by Veema Education, this session forms part of the AISL Safeguarding Pathway CPD programme, alongside other safeguarding webinars taking place in 2026 and 2027. The session includes a guest input from COBIS schools.
